This is a paper which tries to gather together all practical information regarding the definition and calculation of various distances in cosmology. The `classical' method is sketched (with references) and a new method, based on a differential equation derived by Rainer Kayser, is presented. Astronomy and Astrophysics, 318, 3, 680-686 (1997). There is also some FORTRAN code available which numerically solves the differential equation and does some related, also interesting, stuff as well.
